Upper Nappan, N.S. – Municipality Committee of the Whole (COW) met at the E. D. Fullerton Municipal Building on June 15, 2022. The meeting opened with a territorial acknowledgement.
The first order of business was a public hearing on amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy & Land Use Bylaw for Wind Turbines Regulations. Members of the public provided their comments on the proposed amendments verbally and in writing. Council will hold Second Reading of the proposed amendment at its’ June 22, 2022 Council session.
Staff provided Council with a proposed amendment to the Low Income Tax Exemption Policy to change the thresholds from the previous year to $32,000 and $470 which is an increase of the amount of the Consumer Price Index of N.S. of 4.1%. This Policy will be on the June 22, 2022 Municipality Council session for further discussion and approval.
