E. B. Chandler had a wonderful group of student athletes representing them in track and field this year. It was so great that they could finally enjoy a track and field season again, for the first time in three (long) years. They had over 70 students of different age groups come out for Track and Field this year and learned a lot about many different disciplines.
Their coaching staff – which consists of seven volunteer teachers – are incredibly proud of this group of student athletes and how they represented E.B. Chandler on and off the track/field, and how they supported each other throughout the past 3 months.
39 of the student athletes who competed in Districts earned the opportunity to move onto Regionals, and 22 of those athletes moved onto represent their school at Provincials. They had many students set personal bests across the three competitions, too!
Their school finished third in their Region in both the Junior Boys and Junior Girls divisions. Individually, their student athletes won a number of ribbons at Regionals and finished third in both the Junior Boys and Junior Girls 4 x 100m relays.
The athletes competed through heavy rain, strong winds, and hot and cold temperatures over the six days of competition, but the smiles never left their faces.
Way to go Team E. B. Chandler – keep working hard and good luck next season!
